on my trek fuel ex9.7 i have a thin metal disc between the granny ring and the frame, so when the chain jumps off it sits on this rather than onto the frame, my mate has recently had his carbon cube frame destroyed by damage from the chain, and wants something similar
anyone know what the thing I have is called and where to get them from?

I'm looking for something like this myself too, was considering making one myself so would be interested to hear if anyone has managed to find one you can buy

Not a ring, but what about something like a Deda Dog Fang chain keeper? It would stop the chain jumping off.
