Mechanical geniuses out there... what new front calliper adapter mount (Shimano) do I need to order.
I changed the fork on my 2021 Ragley Big Al, previous fork was a 52mm offset running 180mm discs. The new Revelation fork is 42mm offset, I put the brakes on an took the bike for a spin. The front brake barley worked.. took it apart and only about 1/3rd of the pad is making contact with the disc. The drilled inserts in the Revelation fork are equal length, so I assume I need a mount that has equal length protrusion ?
Can't see the pic but does it need an adaptor at all? Modern forks often fit a 180 rotor as standard. Offset won't make any difference
Can you see the images now ?
Pics working for me now.
I would say try with no adapter: as @nickjb says the fork is probably expecting a 180mm disc out the box.
Yep, that's a 180 mount fork as standard, fit your caliper with no adapter (and shorter bolts, usually M6x20mm)and it should be fine.
Many thanks, just offered it up and that seems to make sense.
