I would like a Singletrack top but not a roadie one. I ride a mountain bike. Don't actually mind if it only comes in blokes sizes. Black would be nice. 8)

If you would like one, please post up.

Thank you so much. 🙂

Edit: this is of course a polite request to ST Towers for their consideration.

Go on then, add me to the list. As long as it doesn't look like a Pope tribute jersey like the merino one!

I find it strange, considering the main population here is fat* middle aged IT geeks, why sell skinny/close fitting T-Shirts!

(*very sweeping statement, luckily it applies)

XXL here please.

With a zip all the way down front and pockets on side/front (We wear Camelbaks ya know )
Don't want one - tight fitting lycra is fine by me :-)And wouldn't wear a STW freeride shirt whilst on my DH bike!
I do look a plonker though with the stuff i do wear 🙂

Only if it's a reasonable price. And having done bulk orders for custom cycle tops, I know how much they cost......

If enough of you are interested all at once, ask STW nicely if they will lend you the pictures for their xc jerseys, then you can get the likes of Champion Systems or TheCycleJersey to make you a big (ie >10) run of them. Then STW don't have to go to the bother/risk of ordering and selling them themselves.

Why would anyone want to be seen alive or dead in a Singletrack jersey, racing snake or fat biffer sized?

What if people thought you actually read it? 😯

'Then STW don't have to go to the bother/risk of ordering and selling them themselves.'

Nice. Seems a little size-ist. 'Relaxed-fit lovers only worthy enough for approved bootleg apparel' shocka! Understand the point on risk and determining a market for this but a more sensitive chap could get the wrong end of the stick there.

Medium in black, preferably long sleeves. No need for reinventing the ugliness of the '80's and their colour schemes.

If they make it nice and baggy like the Fox tops(cheaper as well would help) but me down for one, long sleeve preferred.

Yep I'd buy one, similar to mt500 or royal racing loose cut trail jersey. Black/ brown is good.

I'd consider a baggy STW jersey, but I've passed on the XC/roadie style ones they generally produce.

I don't get baggy. Closer fitting stuff (not necessarily skin tight!) wicks better and is more thermally effecient. Each to their own 🙂

grapefruit, you could be a right chuffing big biffer and still fit in the biggest size 'proper' stw jersey. 😉 Lycra stretches outwards fabulously in my experience!

Its more about whether the image of stw is rad/core enough for enough non xc/roadie types to want to drop £40 on a more t-shirt like jersey. A bit like if southerndownhill did a 3/4 zip back-pocketed xc jerseys. With elasticated sleeves and optional arm warmers.

Not me, I'm wondering if small is going to be tight fitting enough.

Good luck with those diets 😉

O.K., I'll say it... this was done a few years ago; I think a final design was done too, but despite much excitement at the time it never made it into production. Mind you, that was back in the day before the mag went all freeride... 😯

I'm sure someone with a better memory than me will be along with all the details before too long. IIRC its non-appearance was the subject of tongue-in-cheek comment on here for quite some time 8)

Mr Wilson- fair point on the fabulous stretchificatory (if it isn't already a word, it is now) properties of lycra. I wasn't being entirely serious so no probs. It's true though that those of us toward the less aerodynamically able end of the whippet/ biffer scale sometimes don't wish to broadcast our silhouettes in unseemly detail. Hey ho.

3/4 Sleeves (for occasional pad friendliness) and I'd get one.

Just to buck the trend in a S (no XL or XXL's here thanks)!

What do you wear if/when you have elbow pads on though? Normal SS tops only come down half way down my bicep giving a nice embarrassing gap above the pad.

Or do 'FR' style short sleeves come up a bit longer?

I'd be much more likely to buy a mincecore light jersey for bloaters than a roadie jersey for anorexics. 🙂

Gosh, so many replies! Thank you all for responding. 🙂

My biggest bugbear with cycle clothing is cheap looking fabric that doesn't actually wick, and costs a fortune. So ...

I'd be up for one. My normal riding jerseys are the race face and sombrio looser fit ones that look more like normal t-shirts. The proper freeride/dh ones I've got are too heavy for normal riding. I think you either have one or the other and if you must have space for pads, buy the next size up.

One of my favourite cycling shirts that I own is my singletrack special reserve jersey. Fits perfectly, looks great and has lasted a long time with only a bit of fraying. One like that please.

This sounded like a good idea but I think it could end up giving STW/mtbing a bad image. The big, baggy freeride top with 3/4 length sleeves doesnt sound cool. Give this to a man wearing elbow pads, mincing round a trail centre and you've created a monster.

Its got to look sleek and fast, some sort of close fitting lycra top would be best, shortish sleeves and a zipped collar. Perhaps some pockets at the back you could store stuff in, so you dont have to take a camels back with you.

The younger downhill/freeride generation will probably be seething at the fact the xc mincers have nicked their 'look'. I dont want to be a part of it so i'll stick with lycra jerseys.

I'd absolutely be keen if it could be somewhere between lycra XC stylee and full-on freeride-esque. I don't wear pads or ride a DH rig, but the skintight lycra look ain't for me either.

Oh, and I realise this is asking for the moon on a stick, but if it were less than the £94.99 required for a woll st top, that would be good 🙂

Good plan - I'd give one a go.
Oppositite problem from most for me, too much Lycra and I'm in danger of looking like a techicolour swan vesta when I put my lid on.
