Forgive me if this is a silly question. Lately I've been wondering when seat tube braces first started appearing on MTBs?

Frame design is really interesting to me so I would love to learn more. Nowadays it's so common you take it for granted as it being a feature on larger frames. But what were the first frames to have them?
