Wife's new Pashley Britannia - including a lovely Brookes saddle, Sturmey Archer hub, dynamo lights, etc. Hand made in Stratford-upon-Avon. - £625.

Orange Apline 160 frame + Fox RP23 - £1,700.

Orange Five frame + Fox Evolution RL - £1,400.

Seriously, WTF?

Many people buy more expensive items when cheaper ones are available, cars, houses, bikes etc. Each to their own, but I personally would save up and pay more for something a bit more niche!
I think that's what your meaning?

Some Pashley are really nice,even though they're made 15 minutes from my house I'd still give them a miss due to the fact they're a ton to lift.

Podge Some of the things on it will be production .I owe someone some disc brakes first and there's a few other bits that were not really for public consumption but to be honest I stopped using wharnecliffe as there were less folks up langsett to get in the way of, my youngster has been pretty I'll and the miss us before that so everything stopped

I think the OP has a really valid point.

Why anyone would pay almost £700 for a pig iron piece of gas pipe shite is beyond me.

Surprisingly, my LBS has sold several to ladies. They look appealing, retro-stylish, comfy and non-threatening I guess. I think they have a certain retro charm. You would not catch me riding one tho.
