What's the best paint to use to touch up my frame? A crash has taken the point off the gloss black accents so I want to get some paint to touch it up. I can get the main red touch up paint from the bike manufacturer, I just need to also get some black that will last being washed and put through the British weather.
Humbrol gloss black enamel; available in 14ml tins - get fine natural brush to apply.2
Try Hobbycraft or a local model shop.
+1 for enamel model paint. Not a perfect finish but works very well
It depends how good a finish you want.
I use the matt/satin version of this
all of the time to touchup or respray things that I want to be black on my bike/bike bits. I actually sprayed an entire replacement mudguard black (was white but I wanted to match the rear mudguard and you now can’t tell them apart!)
Obviously you need to use newspaper etc mask it off - But it’s brilliant stuff in my experience.
Nail varnish. Cheap and loads of colour choice !!
Cheers guys I'll get some of that enamel paint. Used nail varnish before and it does slowly come off.
I have used one stop aerosols colour match was spot on, RAL 2005 Orange. Another option for you if you know the colour of your bike.

Permanent marker if it's black!
