Looking to get my frame sprayed. Anyone had any good experiences near Leeds/ Bradford?
Never used them but I think Triple S in Bingley get good reviews on here.
For powder coating try Triple S in Bingley, wet paint try Bob Jacksons

For a cheaper (but equally highly reccommended) place, CAS Coatings in Bradford. Seen their work on car wheels and it looks top notch - no orange peel effect etc.
bob jacksons are not very good. imho.
Looks like I'll try Triple S. What sort of money do they charge for a frame? Looking for a titanium colour.

Another vote for CAS Coatings.
Never personally have a frame done there, but have had numerous sets of wheels done there, for myself and for customers, and they are second to none on quality.
And under a quarter of the price some others charge for exactly the same job !
(I drive from York to Bradford to deliver and collect wheels rather than use anyone local, that's how good they are 🙂 )
Last frame I had done by Triple-S was ~£120 but that was for complete strip, mask off all bearings etc and coat in a non-standard colour. They do basics, candy colours etc. Bit more expensive than the likes of CAS but they specialise in motorbike and car parts so know how to mask stuff properly etc. I had a frame done once by a local place to me in Halifax that were more industrial and you could tell. It was only £30 or something but orange peel effect and loads of powder in the seat tube etc that I don't suppose the owners of the fire-escape that went through the oven at the same time as my Cotic were too bothered about!
Bob Jackson was £108.50 to strip, fill a dent and respray in a plain colour (non-metallic). They did a good job, and kept me informed throughout.

At Jacksons they had a "Grigio Metallic" that was Ti(ish)
Mate had transition DH frame done at bob jackson not long ago, he was very impressed with them.
I've used Triple S and thought they were great. Grey cost about £60, including stripping and repaint.
Heard good things about Bob Jackson. I'm told my 2007 Orange Clockwork was painted there and that's spot on.
Worth calling in at LSN (think that's what they're called) in Castleford. Much cheaper then Triple S and those I know that have used them were impressed.

It was started so people had a central place to log recommendations pr where they had problems. Most retrobikers use a frame sprayers at some point so there is a lot of experience on there.
I personally wouldn't go back to Triple S as they were very expensive and had only a few colours. Great quality admittedly. I went to LSN in Castleford who did my 1994 Kona Kilauea in a lovely metallic grey finish. £40 for fork/frame and 2 stems. All masked off properly (did need a small amount of emery cloth work to correct a bit of overspray but only 5 mins which I would do with a brand new frame anyway) and a lovely even thin finish (not thick and gloopy). Massive amount of finishes to choose from as well.

triple S are expensive and have limited colours...but they do a good job
CAS have more colours available and are significantly cheaper but you have to do some work when you get the frame back (i.e. face BB & headset, ream out bearing seats).
I've had two frames done at CAS - both pretty good jobs and cheap (45 quid for a candy blue full sus...30 quid for a white frame and rigid forks). 3 day turnaround with CAS. 7 day turnaround with triple S. I've used old BB shells and headset cups and sacrificial bottle cage bolts to protect threads / seats and its been ok. Just get a Dremel!
Overall, CAS are cheap and cheerful. Triple S more expensive but put a bit more work in (limited range of colours tho).
We have had four done at LSN in Castleford. Each one has been a first class job and quite good on price.

LSN did my harley wheels and some other bits on it and did a mega job masked everythign off and finnish is rock hard and smooth mate had some bits done @ triple s ans wasnt impressed you need to use a specialist in car or bike parts and not an industrial coatings place if you want a finnish rather thana coating
