I don't know if this is possible or if its somthing I've heard before somwhere or other but is it possible for a frame to loose its zing?

the reason im asking is that ive been riding a mountain bike on the road and off for a while and the thing is ive had this feeling that when i sit on the nose of the saddle and let my weight rest, and pull the bars to me the bike feels as though its got real drag , i mean i felt i could roll faster if i sat on the rear of the saddle (or normal position) and pushed the bars away/forward.

on a more serious note surely its just cos your pushing the bike when it feels fast, and pulling it when it feels dragy
