I have a set of well used Fox talas r forks, the old 130 travel version.
The stanchions have a few scratches on them nothing deep but through the coating.
I have tried to revive them by servicing them myself, but now I have oil leaking out of the rebound side and I'm about 20mm short on travel. The rebound side stanchion is in good condition. Do you think I have over filled the rebound side with oil?
Where is Mr Loco when you need him....
Is that a trick question? Did you put too much oil in?
Did you crush the foam seal when putting it all back together?
How much oil is leaking out? Is it a light greasing on the legs or a lot?
Send them off to loco tuning.... he did a great job on my sons forks which were well bad...had mine done too... speedy return http://www.locotuning.co.uk/
I put what I thought is the correct amount in ( I think it was 160ml), but I have been know to be wrong.
I thought about sending them off but last time they were serviced, a couple of years ago tf said it wouldn't be worth doing again. But when inspecting the stanchions they look in good condition.
Oh and for how much is leaking? enough to be running down the lower leg.
Did you bleed the oil out the damper cart. before re filling with oil, if not that's the problem. ๐
