I've got a couple of rides old pair of 2011 F29 FIT forks. They came as std for 120mm travel so I have dropped the legs off and stack out to insert the 20mm reducer bush. I have re assembled as per Fox website but since their rebuild the rebound damper seems to have stopped working?

Any ideas from the masses please? hopefully it's just a step I've missed out rather than a problem per se.

Cheers.

When you took the lowers off did quite a bit of oil come out?

Oh yes! I thought that the FIT damper had the oil in a bladder so I had ruled that out of being the problem.....

Never really worked on or had those forks but I would try stripping them down again and putting oil back in the dampner

I'd say having oil in the damper is a bit of a priority! 😉 😆

Hi Blazin Saddles,
The FIT damper is a completely sealed unit so if it was working correctly before you took the lowers off perhaps maybe the red rebound dial at the base of the fork just needs turning in slighty?
There is usually about 25ml in the lower leg on the FIT damper side. If lots more oil than this has come out then it sounds like the damper has leaked but i've never seen one yet that has leaked, especially when so new.
Also just checked and 2011 F29 were 100 or 80mm travel. Just check that yours isn't a 2010 model as these were made in 120mm travel options.
There is a fork model year archive at the top right of this link
