This is a video by a friend from a few weeks back on the Red Route at Fort William. The camera angle works well.

Hmm, they seem to have added a fair amount of gravel, wonder why?

Because of
1) People dragging their back wheels
2) Water erosion
3) Foss needed somewhere to stash the excess they had!

Some of it seems to be on bits that were just bedrock before mind... Maybe it's new and just waiting to settle/clear?

The gravel is mainly in areas were there was dirt before.

The track just gets faster when they add more gravel, so it is all good.

Didn't like the angle at first but couldn't stop watching! Ace music, horrible background noise and... your steerer's too long ; )

The Camera is a Drift HD.

I'll pass on the comments about the background noise and steerer. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Favourite camera angle has to be on the seatube lookign back over the tyre though, just need to find people who are exactly the same speed as you to take the camera while you folow them.

The board walk sections are the only way you could get a track on the hill without cutting into the hillside, some bits are just a way of linking different sections, some bits are a challenge of their own.

No, the person who uploads it to YouTube has to enable viewing on mobile devices.

The run looks great but I think that has shown where not to mount a camera.

"The camera angle works well"
I'd have to disagree

Bike + legs taking up too much of the shot IMO
Not as bad as on seattube (inside front triangle

If the bike must be included I probably prefer upside down chest mount like this:

(though that is pointed touch too far down for my liking, and may even be normal way up, but still chest mount)

I thought this thread was going to be to do with how they hang the bikes off the lift (are they seatpost mounted?)

I love it... To be fair I might not say that if you had to ride to the top, it's wasteful of altitude in a way you can't usually get away with. And the newest section down near the bottom isn't as good as the bits up top. But yeah... Love it.

Largely it is- Innes is spot on, it's the Nevis equivalent of link trails/fire road, and mostly just there to get you from one interesting bit to another- the hillside is largely bottomless peat bog. Some sections are good fun in their own right though, there's a few nice wee steps and jumps and corners that are good.

I've ridden this trail probably 80-90 times now and love it but still find it challenging. The first couple of times down I thought it was too much for me but stuck at it and now progressed to doing a few runs on the downhill track. I ve gone there with and talked to people who are quite happy on red "trail centre" routes but this is a different thing. Every time we go there people are walking down the route out of their comfort zone. Please don't judge it till you've tried it! Remember the pictures on the website/leaflets and mtb cut videos of the route are pro riders (Joe and Hannah Barnes)and make it look easy. I would advise everyone to wear fullface helmets and knee/elbow pads. Oh and it's me riding the bike in the video. That was just one run of 8 or 9 that day and I usually edit different shots/angles to make up a video of the day.
