Hi

What length forks can I use on my SC Blur (about a 2003ish model - has V-Brake tabs) It has a Fox DHX4.0 shock if that helps.

Currently riding with old set of Zocchis MX Comps but could do with something a bit more adjustable.

Thanks
Sean

130mm Talas RLCs on mine. Never have any need to drop the travel as it climbs fine with 130mm.

What would be the most I could run ?? 140mm ? Or would that ride like a chopper ?? What was it made for ?? 120's ?

It's fine with 130mm forks so 140mm will also be ok but will be starting to get progressively more slack. bear in mind also that not all forks of a given travel are the same length...

120 to 130 is probably ideal on average but say a fork with 110 to 140 adjustable travel would work well in different situations (eg wind it down for the hills, extend for the DHs. Or it'll just allow you to find the sweetspot if you don't want to adjust it all the time.

Thanks Clubber, I only just got the frame and absolutely love it, it deserves better than the MXComps it has on at the moment !

It's the best do-it-all cross country bike I've ever ridden Sean. I'm still yet to find a more modern bike that rides as well. And I've never suffered with fast wearing bushes, which is supposedly a problem with these - Only had to replace mine once in 5 years.

Have fun with it!

Classic Blur was rated for max 105mm forks I recall.

My mate's Blur was fitted with 100 to 130mm Pace RC40s and used from everything from SSMM to riding in the Alps.
