Hi All,

Been away from MTBs for a while and I've just been updating my Enduro. Does anyone have any recommendations for forks? It was bought as a frame with some Z1 Freerides but to be honest I'd like something a bit less hefty.

£450 max (give or take a few quid!).

Also, service the rear shock (Fox RL) or replace it?

Thanks,

Rob.

2nd the Coil Pikes.

It's like the bike was designed for them! Here's mine:

Air Pikes or Talas would also be good if you want to go lighter. I'm going to try mine with 140mm Vanillas as the Pikes have been moved to an '04 SX Enduro.

I've just taken a set of Magura Laurins off mine, 130mm air, very lgiht, perfect on the bike. I'm selling them for £200 + postage if you're interested?

Mine was great with 130 Revs. Fwiw, fitting a 10mm longer shock (so 200x50) with the link in the slacker position massively improves it. Raises bb to a prope height and gets the head tube angle spot on.

The DHX Air was rubbish though.

I'm using a 200x50 pro-pedal Vanilla in mine.

Thanks everyone.

Tell me more about this shock hack. I had thought about it but wasn't too sure how it would work. What is the improvement?

I spoke to Spesh UK and they suggested that putting a longer shock in would be a bad idea - but I suppose any manufacturer would.

They probably meant longer travel which I actually did try too (200x57) and it worked fine though too much travel for me. The bb as standard is too low and I found I was constantly hitting cranks/my feet. The longer shock raises the bb just enough to sort that out n

I've got a 2004.

Currently it's in the garage fitted with Pike Airs.

As for the rear shock, you'd get great results sending it TF Tuned to get it PUSHed.
