I have some old RS Tora 318 solo air forks that function fine and dont lose air but after a ride there is a oil ring on each stanchion and its been like this a long time
should i do something if yes what and can I do it my self?

Sounds like you need new wiper seals there bud.
Very cheap and you can freshen up the lowers while your at it. 🙂
