Arranging a weekend away for a group (some of who have done lots of DH, some haven't done any). Would 417 be a better shout than FoD? Is it any good?
I've been to FoD in the wet and it can be a bit sketchy. Unfortunately BPW is booked the weekend we can all go....so thinking they are the only two options nearby.
I'd definitely say FOD is better- it just has a hell of a lot more riding. But I've had a couple of really good days at Flyup too. Flyup for me is definitely more trailcentry which could be good for your group and I'm pretty sure they've added more trails since we were there last summer. For whatever reason it just always seems that bit more laid back than BPW. It's also miles easier to navigate than FOD, again a definite bonus for a mixed group. (plus it has the pump track barn)
(I'll just mention the fantastic Black Mountain Cycle Centre for completeness basically as it's in the same area, but I'm not sure it's as good as either of those 2 for a mixed group. TRACTORS, though)
