Looking for a flat bar to replace a 685mm EA70 riser bar.

Not looking for anything too "woopy" a la Salsa.

Needs to be 31.8mm

Carbon or alloy construction.

Sub 200g if possible.

Any recommendations?

Easton Haven Carbon, 711 wide, only 20 mm rise, 9 deg bend so not a flat flat, but 170g. Nice bar and no flex.

Cheers guys.

TBH I had ruled out the Easton flat bars as I thought they were 600mm wide as a maximum but it seems they also do a 685mm. 😛

Do you find there to be much flex/give at all in the carbon bars? Thinking negative flex rather than positive "trail absorption" flex?

Tick all but the flat criteria 🙁

I was going to suggest the Salsa, until I saw your comment 🙂

could always go with the lass-dramatic one, 5 or 11 degrees.

Been using these for the past year, they seem to fit all your criteria and are pimpy light to boot 🙂

Crank Brothers are pretty light and wide and flat.

sure I've seen it cheaper than at CRC at the moment.

I've got the Niner flat top ^as above 710mm, really like them 178gms on my scales, I think they have a back sweep of about 9Degrees which won't be to everyone's liking. I've also got Edge/Enve flat/sweep handlebars @700mm also very nice with 9degree sweep and 172 gms on my scales. Both bars are very similar, I'd probably recommend the Edge/Enve as the finish is matt/raw and doesn't appear to easily show marks ie where you've bolted on controls or instruments, the gloss finish on the Niner tends to scrub really easy and show up the slightest marks.

I've been on MTzoom bars for 15 months including using bar ends and hitting plenty of trees.

No problems so far 🙂
