When you put a new shimano chain on, do you fit it as directed with the supplied pin, or do you just use a powerlink as a matter of course?
Just wondering what people do - I've ridden with powerlinks in shimano chains for years at a time so there doesn't seem to be any noticeable weakness, yet I tend to join them with a pin first time out for some reason.

I fitted the shimano link but carry spare power links in my bag.
