Been for first time today, just wanted to say to all those involved with the project what a fantastic job you've done, was really impressed with the place, nice one, cheers!
is there a cafe or owt near by oh and any post code for gps. Are all the sign posts up yet mate
There's a hut in the carpark with tea/coffee cakes etc and the pub in Tosside does food and some nice ales.
All the signposts were in,there were a few arrows missing but we managed to get all the way round without getting lost and that's saying something.
We just headed for Gisburn and there were signs for the forest and the mtb carpark/trails,was dead easy.
cheers fella
Planning to head over there early tomorrow; good to know the signs are up, cheers for that.
Anyone happen to know if can I still get in the car park early?
i think you should go help build it! ๐ก theres a dig day on tomorrow ๐
I don't think the carpark is locked but taka is right, come and help us dig tomorrow ๐
following on from what you said today stumpyjon ๐
mick - i used BD23 4SQ in my sat nav to get there the other day for the first time and it brought me straight the the pub on the forest outskirts..
I was very impressed with the trails there and would like to congratulate the locals on a great job..
sorry - not really in a position to help out as I need to be back in Leeds by 12:45 to look after my son whilst his sister goes to see LazyTown Live.
That said I'll take any abuse on the chin - I'll be the fat bloke riding a silver zesty and chickening out on the techy stuff.
Give us a shout as you go past, we'll be working at the end of twisty, tight section near the beginning. At least you won't have to watch Lazy town, think I'd rather poke my eyes out (I now really hate CBBC in general).
cheers ๐
Pstokes you could make the tea and coffees for us lot. Shouldn't take you too long fella
anyhow on a zesty you should be able to clear all the sections...
enjoy and do give us a shout tomorrow
im missing yet another dig day for stupid family outings! ๐ฟ
what time is the dig ? will people be riding b4/afterwards ? would love to help as well as ride
anyhow on a zesty you should be able to clear all the sections...
The bike is not the problem! See you tomorrow.
You'll be fine Paul. Bad back again so off the bike this weekend. I take it Gareth's Hetton ride will not get you back in time.
Make sure you do all the optional black bits - great fun.
sarah, dig starts at 10am and finishes at 2pm, so bring your bike and dig then go ride. We meet here, a bit further down the forest road now, but it's obvious cos there will be a few cars parked, turn right off school lane onto the forest road, the barrier will be unlocked and open:

sorry for not dropping by but was running late - got a bit lost getting there (followed my 'instincts' instead of satnav). I was a cheery as i could be to the two guys I saw, however I could tell from the look in his eyes that it wasn't his first barrowload of the morning!
Did a full loop (inc. the slab!) and then did the lower half of the loop again (no time for second full loop). The twisty stuff in the trees early on is really good - presumably that is the volunter built stuff; top, top work.
And the stuff just before you return to the car park was far better than I thought it would be.
Vounteers and contractors both seem to have done an excellent job - will be back just as soon as I have earned sufficient brownie points. ๐
Went this morning as well, really enjoyed it but a bit too much hard work for me! My Dad and his mate did the full red route as well and said they were really impressed.
