I'm looking for my first GPS for my bike. I would like OS maps for the whole uk, and also a worldwide basemap for road riding, as I travel a lot (airline long haul pilot) with my bike. Don't need fancy features, and I don't use a HRM.

Any advice?

Garmin 800 with OS maps SIM card of whole of UK. Robust proven and the free mapping software is very good.

Road or off road? Garmin800 either way, but I seldom use the OS mapping on mine as city navigator is better on the road. I've used open street map in Majorca and Spain which was also excellent. And free.

I'm after OS for uk mtb, and base maps for overseas road riding, mainly USA, Argentina, japan and Caribbean.

I've got satmap & although it's not that cheap or small it's a great bit of kit.
Maps are os and easy to use. Route plannings a doddle and it's very robust.
Got a weatherproof case and bike mount on mine and it's survives all day rainy muddy rides
