Been building this up over the last few months, a mixture of old and new (more old than new actually).

Today was the first ride, I really wasn't expecting it to be so agile - the acceleration is something else. I didn't really put it through its paces in a DHish sense yet though, however first impressions are that it has been worth all the time/money!

Bar plugs, hoses too long, saddle should be black, tyre logos don't line up, hole in outlet pipe is an open invite to rats, black pipe isn't painted magnolia like the others and the boiler is dribbling down the wall.
Otherwise perfect.

flatfish - cheers, its all about juxtaposition.

boxelder - they're Superstar switch, I'm a bit dubious to be honest, I'll have to wait and see what they withstand.

Low rise bars and swap the 2.25 ardent on the front for a 2.4.

Low rise bars are in the pipeline, still trying to find a decent wide pair I can afford, I see the logic of a 2.4 on the front.

something doesnt look right - i cant put my finger on it

ive seen sams bikes in the flesh and they look sweet so im trying to workout whats wrong ...

maybe just the angle but it makes the headangle look really steep and front end really high ?

Excellent advice by all, I think flat bars would balance the bike more - it definitely feels too upright, maybe 10mm longer in the stem dept too, currently running a 60mm.

They are Crests on Superstar Switch Evo hubs, laced with Sapim spokes.

ds3000 - The price on those wheels are pretty amazing. I'm interested in how they hold up overtime.
Nice bike by the way.

cheers_drive - Me too, I'll be pleasantly surprised if the bearings last a year, I'll let you know - couldn't resist at that price though.

I thought I'd buck the trend with the headbadge - the bars are going.

Just post it, either here or on MTBR.

FWIW I really like the Sunline V1 Flat bars and they match really well with the silver of the seat collar... which is important ๐Ÿ˜†
