Thinking of doing this tomorrow. I know the bit between kdy and kinghorn, and then Burntisland to aberdour.

Am I right in thinking the only way to get between kinghorn and Burntisland is on the main road?

The bit after aberdour appears to be also on tarmac but not the main road.

Can anyone please confirm

Ta

I know they are buliding a cycle path next to the road between BI & Kinghorn. Not sure if it is finished. Not much help I know

I think it depends on the tide...if the tide is out you can use the 'beach', but it is probably soft in a lot of places. Haven't ridden it but my long-suffering partner has walked it a few times and she said the beach is 'nice' as it isn't the road but the road was more pleasant as it was over with quicker.

I just use the road bit at Burntisland, then it's fast paths all the way to Inverkeithing.
Going down that route on Monday to 'the ferry'

Would be interesting to know about that, likely to be up there in the summer with small people.

Yeah kirkcaldy to kinghorn nice up and down track with few stairs. Kinghorn to burntisland cycle path on pavement all finished now. Burntisland to aberdour beach nice track with few bits of tarmac. On road briefly in aberdour through town then off along avenue by golf course to dalgety bay. This bit has just all been tarmac-ed, just finished last week. Then nice coastal path through dalgety bay (no need to go on road at any bit) to north queensferry to bridge. Enjoy!

Has anyone done the last bit from Inverkeithing to Kincardine?
I always head to South Queensferry or Edinburgh.

If you want to stay off road from kinghorn, follow track at kinghorn golf club over to B923,cross the road ,on left is entrance to path up to binn, head straight until you come to first turning on left and descend to Burntisland golf club, go into the car park turn right down the hill a bit then turn left through some woods and then you can pick your way down to coast road.
if you look on strava heat maps you will get the picture.
Failing that the new cycle path, kinghorn to Burntisland is grand.
Roasting project in Burntisland, good coffee spot.

fasthaggis, Inverkeithing to Kincardine pleasant ride goes through Culross.
Coorie by the Coast at limekilns is good cafe

Sorry, minor hijack, at what point near Boarhills does it become unrideable? I was hoping to ride the section up to and including Boarhills, via the Kenly Water. I'd seen a few photos which suggested nice singletrack beside the burn?

The whole section from Kilminning reserve, Fife Ness, Cambo and through to St Andrews is pretty fragmented. Rocky bits, steppy bits, dune bits. There is the odd bit of good single track mixed in, but non of it lasts for long.

Yeah, I'm dipping in and out so will be doing Cambo to Kingsbarnes and a bit beyond before looping back behind the golf course. There's some glorious sandy white double track in amongst the broken sand-duney stuff

Thanks maddyutah.
I have only ever cycled on the roads from North Queensferry to Kincardine, so I might do it as a loop in the summer and link up to the John Muir way on the South side of the Forth. 👍
