My Hardtail is pretty muched used to tow our Charriott + child at moment, Its got a pair of small block 8's on, what tyre would be better suited (faster rolling) for road / disused railway type riding ? Spesh Fastracks any good of that ?

Fastracks are a great tyre, think of it as a cheaper SB8.. But the SB8 is the daddy on fast rolling as far as I have tried, only thing faster is a semi slick or something like a Conti Twister, very fast but strictly dry only..(so are sb8's and fastracks though)

mmm, I'm find the SB8's suprisingly draggy on the road... maybe its just pressures to play with.

The conti is a 75% road 25% offroad tyre - much less draggy than a pure mtb tyre of any sort and is virtually puncture proof - comes with a replacement guarantee if you do get one

SB8 aren't particularly fast on the road in my experience. If I were you I would just put a semi-slick type tyre on the back - faster rolling on the road but still have front-end grip (for turning) off-road.

larsen TTs are pretty good on hardpack, that said they seem to be doing ok on the back of two of my bikes in the mud and ice

By the way, I find WTB Nanoraptors very good for road and dry/hardpack. They are very underrated in my opinion! Nearly continuous centre-tread makes them a very good all rounder. Faster than an SB8 but still very capable on road. Can't understand why they aren't more popular.

poppa, gone with your Idea, keeping the SB8 on Front and going Conti on back. Thanks for advice everyone.

If you pump them up to 55psi then you shouldn't have an issue. I commute 17 miles on my SB8s, if I lose a few psi then I sure as hell know about it on the hills!
