Fashion victim light trail tyres

I have an Izzo, it's currently wearing the OEM ForecKsters. I'd like something with a bit more grip, but these are very fast (on a lightweight wheelset)
What's out there with:
Similar weight
Similar strength sidewalls to EXO, not really rocky round here, I've only ripped 2 mtb tires in the last 8 years it so.
Similar speed
A bit more grip.
Hopefully in the region of £40/end
And TANWALL! My bike is black, it's very dull.
I'm reluctant to say it, but down
country...

Currently thinking Barzo/Mezcal in a 2.4, but I'm sure I've heard the tanwall ones are a bit flimsy?

Any suggestions appreciated!

I've been using WTB Ranger tyres (29 x 2.4) for the last couple of years and they have been very good.

Not much drag on tarmac but still grippy enough on dry and damp trails.

They have survived Cwmcarn, The South Downs Way and numerous xc rides and bikepacking weekends with nothing more than normal wear and tear.

We are running these front and rear on the daughters Turbo Levo. I have the Grid Gravity ones on mine which are very good

Thanks all!
TBH I haven't been that impressed with Specialized tires in the past, although those were all pre 'Tx' labeling.

The XR4s seem like a good bet, found them at a decent price as well so think I'll go with those.
Thanks!

Yep XR4 is a great all-round tyre. SE4 is more robust, but not much heavier though less supple

Another vote for the Bontrager XR4, its a great tyre. I have it onto the front of my Stache with the XR2 on the back. Great super fast combo.

In a similar fast rolling but capable combo I run Maxxis dissector front and rekon back on the full sus. Really cracking combo but being maxxis, on the pricey side in my 29x2.6 flavours.

XR4s ordered, ta. Would have gone for a 3 on the back but they don't appear to do them in dysentery beige.

I know you have ordered already but Specialized Ground Control Grid T7 Soil Searching Edition (what a mouthful!) front and back on my Spur for the past six months have been extremely impressive and were only 30 quid an end plus ticks the tanwall box.
