Well we decided to venture up to farleton rather than rivvy for out Wed night ride. Glad we did, it was brill, dry, dusty trails, just the right temperature, finished with no need for lights and a cracking sunset and views.

just like a dry summer, but colder 🙄

Nice photos. I reckon I can see my parents house in the 2nd to last photo, but I've never been up Farelton Knott. I don't suppose you could tell me where I might find a route guide. I'll have the right OS map, but no idea where to start from.

Thanks

Please might you fire that .gpx in my direction too?

I drive past Farleton a lot as it's between here and my Parents house and it would be good to have a stop-off-and-ride option!

Thanks!

For a tech, I'm embarrassed to admid I don't own a GPS unit. 😳

I'm still navigating with map and compass. Is there a good guide book route anywhere?

Looks cracking, I've driven past it many a time but never ridden it!

Start working in Lancaster from July so hopefully can get up there for a post work spin a few times!

Brill!

Farleton Knott's a great little razz if you're heading up or down the M6.

I don't have mail I don't think, nothing in Junk either. Did you substitute 'username' for my username in the email address?

Thanks!

Another request for a GPX of the route if you don't mind. E-mail sent so you can attach it to that.

Thanks in advance.

I'd ask for gpx as well although it looks like it might be rammed this weekend!

Was up there the other day with JY and Donk - it's riding fantastically well at the moment. Weird riding dry, dusty trails in sunshine then looking around and seeing snow covered peaks.

Here's a thread in a simlar vein I made a few months ago:

http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/its-grim-up-north-part-7459

People should bear in mind all the good riding is cheeky there so act responsibly.

I love riding The Knot, you don't need any GPX or anything to have fun up there - it's very compact and you can easily cover the whole thing in 3hrs.

Half the fun of somewhere like Farleton is finding little paths through the gorse. We tend to do 3 or 4 climbs and descents. Cracking little hill! 😀

Jumping on the band wagon.. Any chance of a gpx of the route? Cheekyness is noted by the way.

Live in Kendal and have only been up farleton once many years ago.

email is pkgraham at btopenworld.com

Thanks,

On a cheeky note, does anyone add in the area around Hutton Roof to extend a Farleton ride? I used to pop up there climbing and it's very similar in places to the pictures above.
