Can anyone recommend a good family friendly campsite near Bakewell/Ashbourne for a 2 night stay in the summer? Somewhere with some onsite facilities would also be nice.

I stayed at Callow Top just outside Ashbourne a few times, but many years ago.

Not sure what they have now but was good and convenient back then.

Close to Tissington Trail for family bike rides too.

Greenhills between Bakewell and Ashford ticks all your boxes and has a bar (or had when I was last there) but will relieve you of all your pennies. Few nice sites along the Bakewell/Monyash road with all the basics and better value. Youlgreave has a small basic site near a nice pub. Couple of pub sites on the A515, Newhaven on the A515/Cromford road junction has the basics and a small shop but no decent pub within a nice stumble home. I think Lathkill Dale site in Monyash is my favourite and it's closest pub is very good.

There's a good site near Fenny Bently just outside Ashbourne too, seem to remember talk of building a pool on site last time I was there too.

Barn farm at birchover, 2 pubs in the village one pub grub and good beer, the other posh proper foodie. Apparently it's in the top 5 family camp sites in the UK.

We did all the fencing at Beech Croft Farm just up from Bakewell. Excellent place and top people who run it

That Ban Farm does look nice. What's the drive in from the M1 like? Is it ok with a Caravan on the back?

We stayed on a little 5 pitch farm CL near Ashbourne last summer. Nice & peaceful. Had a bathroom but was more of a base for touring, than a hol site. Callow Top is nice, has a pool & is on the Tissington Trail. As regards towing, its Derbyshire, its fine. Some hills, bit of a long one up out of Ashbourne.
There's a couple of sites by Carsington Water also.

Paulosoxo...what happened there then ? Did you have far to go ?
