Is there any flat/ easy family cycling in the Lake District ?
I was thinking lake loops, or similar flattish/ easy kind of thing for my 5 + 7 yr olds ...
There's not much that's flat and obvious! There are some forest road loops in grizedale but they are still fairly hilly.
I'd recommend the old railway line from Keswick to threlkeld or the path along the side of windemere from the sawrey ferry.
Both have a reasonable pub close by for refreshments . The food in the cuckoo brow near the ferry is especially good
There's some good links around mid-lakes now the cycle paths have been built, including:
Catch 'Bike Boat' ferry from Brockhole to Wray Castle, cycle track to Ferry Nab, ferry back over. (flat but costly for the ferries!)
Elterwater village links to Wray Castle on new off-road tracks now, and there's cycle track linking Torver-Coniston-Tilberthwaite, from Tilberthwaite pretty flat riding links to Little Langdale or a loop to Hodge Close and back.

Thats about 100m extra elevation than I've done before with a tag-a-long bike but worth a punt.

You could Coniston, alongside Yewdale road, through Low Yewdale to Water Head and back to Consiton along the lakeshore
Langdale to Skelwith Bridge.
They're creating/surfacing some at the moment in Eskdale.
