[Closed] Exposure Reflex vs 1800 lumen six pack

I am currently using the old 1800 lumen Exposure six pack and was wondering if anybody has much experience with the Reflex and the six pack. Is there a noticeable difference and is it a viable upgrade? Is all of the new tech really functional and an improvement or just a gimmick?
Any advice appreciated.

Wow does nobody have an Exposure Reflex or anything to say about one. Don't think I'd want to lay out over 400 big ones on a light that nobody has an opinion on. Last call ...... anybody ???

For sure there is and there are a couple of reviews out there but you can't beat real long term users opinions. There are things that I use that don't get good magazine reviews but I would never be without and there are things that get excellent reviews that I would never want.
Just hoped that there might be someone out there with an experience to share.

There was a very thorough review on an Australian website - seemed long term and independent...

My reply was a little in jest, but sometimes too much emphasis is put on "What would STW do"...

I hear you DrP and couldn't agree more. I suppose when you're struggling to make a descision that's going to cost you a few quid you almost look for others to make it for you, safety in numbers so to speak.
The Australian one is a good review and thorough, cheers.

I currently have both and id say there is very little in it. Not had a good chance to use it much in anger, but initially the main advantage of the reflex is the size/weight (or lack of it). The beam appears to be wider on the reflex, but throw is a little less, although this is was performed using the high setting on the 2,6,12 mode. There is a "boost" mode which gives a burn time of around 1hr 20, which presumably is brighter still and i suspect closer to the 2200 lumen outout than the mode i had it on. Hand on heart, i doubt you would notice any difference on the trail.

As to is it worth it, your call. The speed variable setting wont do anything that a manual switch wont do, you just don't have to think about it.

Cheers Clong thats pretty much what I needed to hear from someone who has both. The Reflex could be a brilliant light with rave reviews but if it's only margilally better than the one I have I could drop the money on something else. I'm not a weight weenie and I'm not competing so if the main advantage is weight then I'll wait to see what comes next year. Cheers
