anyone know if you can buy this plastic allen bolt on its own?, mine has rounded off inside and is difficult to tighten. Dont want to have to buy a whole new mount just for the bolt.

I will email USE, but just wondered if anyone knew?

Definitely email Exposure, they'll probably send you a free replacement.

Just use an alloy one, and maybe a 'crush' washer - or are they the same size as plastic number plate bolts?

I am tempted, but I know if I try it I will want one.

trouble is my commuter road bike is on its last legs and trying decide between new commuter/cross bike/dirty disco/kinesis pro6 or a full suss MTB/flux/5 spot.

unfortunately the commuter/CX option is winning at the moment.

post some pics up when its done though, would like to see what it looks/rides like.

Didnt realise you were so local? Where do you ride around Fundee? ive been doing a few night rides round backmuir woods recently but need a new challenge??

No worries, pics will be up but im having trouble with brand new brakes and they are being sent back to Formula, so might be a couple of weeks.

Riding round here is only a last option really, i usually head down to stirling or the Glens. Mainly Aviemore though. I know its a trek but got good mates up there and its always worth it.

OP - yes thats the bolt. They come with a short and long bolt, and I dont use the long, and I have two mounts so therefore two bolts.
I will email so you have my email and you can let me have your postal address and I will pop it in the post.

By the way I need to check I still have them when I get home - I dont remember chucking them away!!

looks like an m6 or m5 nylon cap screw, measure the length you want, and get from any fastner supplier.. for about 5 pence

these guys give free samples

Pick up the phone. It's 10 guys in a warehouse, you'll get a quicker response.

As an aside I never use an allen key on mine - just put my finger in the bolt head with the light in the bracket and twist the light until it's tight. Don't overtighten it that way - I've found that it's very easy to just keep tightening because it's all plastic there's no real 'feel'.

rounded it? I've never used an allen key when fitting just press my thumb against the bolt head and spin the top section, don't want to apply much torque and crush helmet.
