I usually get 1-2 punctures per year, tyres are Continental Vertical Pros which I think have some kind of built in protection, run then low PSI too, around 28.
This year has been no exeption 1 puncture up until August. Then weather cools a little, thorns drop, and 5 punctures in September alone, all thorns ๐ Mate who rides tubeless has even had 3 this month which too is a rarity for him.
Anyone else having an excessive puncture season? ๐
The farmers have been cutting the hedgerows round here recently. Loads of thorns all over the place.
Mates running tubes have had a few punctures. I've pulled a few thorns out and simply heard that satisfying brief hiss followed by silence that you get with tubeless and Stans sealant.
I used to, but Dr Sludge tubes put an end to this particular seasonal concern.
Pulled out 8 thorns after one recent ride, but there may have been more that already fell out on their own or broke off. Didn't even know they were there during the ride as I'm running tubeless with Stans. Just as well, otherwise it could have been a long day...
