No chain slip, completely smooth. Had to modify the tensioner slightly with a file to allow it to push up. I did think i was just getting 1 half link, but winstanleys bmx sent me a full Gusset Slink for £1.99

I hate to point it out, but you're running your half link the wrong way around. Rounded/outer edge should be the leading edge.

Wot he said- you'll need to turn your chain around for it to bend properly. Looks good though- do you need the tensioner with the 1/2link chain?

I did think it was back to front but was too timid to post...

my Gusset half link chain weighed an absolute ton but always worked well.

Was a bugger to get in a chain tool though as it's so wide.

it doesn't make any difference unless you're using it to grind as in bmx.

Technically, why is it that the chain is 'wrong' that way round? I don't see it would make much difference, but wouldn't it run smoother over the tenioner the way he has it? Not disagreeing here, I just wondered why?

I've never ordered something from winstanleys and actually received what I ordered. Does anyone know someone who works there?

Why? Is it faster?

😆 😆 😆

The reason half link chains should be run the opposite way is so that when the'yre being ground on a hard surface it's less likley to open up the outer link on the chain.

So wouldn't make a blind bit of difference with that setup.

Depending on chainstay length, even a half link does not guarantee adequate tension.
