Heading to France in September. Broke down last year and spent two nights outside a garage and 820 Euros.

I had cheap ass cover that would only get me to a garage (I managed that myself!)

So who do you use that would get you home and have you tested it?

Just upgraded our cover with Direct Line to Euro-Plus, for our trip to France next week. The bumf suggests its the same cover as in the UK, hire-car - hotel - onward travel etc, & getting the car to destination/home etc, if it cant be fixed by the end of the day. I think its ultimatley Green Flag, who supposidly have a good reputation in caravanning circles.

Got me thinking now so will be ringing in the morning to check. 😕

I got european cover with the AA last year.Car broke down in Belgium. We got a night in a hotel and our meals paid for(reclaimed when we got home. keep receipts) and the car was replaced with a vw transporter to continue the holiday which involved travelling to france ,Italy, Luxembourg and Switzerland. When it was time to come home, I was met at the ferry by the Begian AA and with the car and at the other end by the AA who took us home and the car to my mechanic.
It was well worth the £90.

ADAC. Its German, but covers you in whatever vehicle throughout Europe and UK (european cover does not distinguish UK as separate) http://www.adac.de/mitgliedschaft/adac_membership/ get the plus membership.

I've used it for for about 5 years now and its been fine. In UK they send AA out for you. 80euros a year, also covers the Nurburgring (which is how I found out). It can be a faff renewing/joining though as you have to fax a payment form to them after speaking to an English speaking rep.

£90 to get from Teruel in Spain to Bradford would have sounded like heaven!
