Enduro2 & Meribel Riding

Hey folks,

Me and some chums are entered into the Meribel version of Enduro2 https://enduro2.fr/english/meribel-belleville-3vallees/

The event is sat to mon, so the plan is to ride the rest of the week, post race. Although we fear we may be limited, as there doesnt seem a massive amount of trails to ride. (compared to say Morzine).

Has anyone ridden for a week in Meribel? Are our fears unjust? Are there any spots locally that are worth a visit? As we may be driving, so an hour up the road would be an option. Much in the way of 'off piste'?

Any info, resources, tips or recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ™‚

A week is a bit long in Meribel.

There's loads of off piste in the vicinity, it's close to where the White Room and Bike Village are based.

Les Arcs, and La Plagne are within striking distance. La Thuile and Tignes a little bit further.

Meribel Ridge is an all time classic descent. The climb up to it is an absolute pig.

cheers @kramer just the sort of info i was after.

Looks like Meribel works well as a base camp, then a few days driving out to other places.

cheers!

If you can, I'd probably base yourself at the bottom of the valley rather than too far up, and that would give you a bit more flexibility.

II wouldnt stay at the bottom of the valley as the bike bus back up from Brides le Bains only runs at the weekend despite what the website says

If you've not booked accomm for the whole week yet, maybe move on to Bourg or Aosta to get access to way more trails?

unfortunately we were keen to lock in accommodation, so its booked and would lose 50%.

sounds like we are going by van now, so opens up plenty of opportunity to head to a few other places.

Not ideal, but i'm sure we will have a blast!

Talk to Ali the organiser for some tips, he knows those trails like the back of his hand will be able to give some routes and advice.

We did the guided trip a couple of years back and went to places you would never find.

Indeed it is. Especially when the bus is running so you can go all the way to bride le Bains. The one along the ridge on the Courceval ridge is great too, especially y the the dearth wish marmots playing chicken with you
