[#3561664]

Did a couple of enduro's last year and want to do more/better this year.

Looking to get my ass to the gym but I have no idea on what exercises I should be doing and I dont trust the monkeys at Pure Gym to set me up on something. I used to waterski competitively years ago and I'm no stranger to the gym but I want get a precise program of exercise specifically for enduro riding.

Someone recommended this guy's work to me http://www.bikejames.com/ but it seems pretty expensive for just a set of PDF's

Has anyone used Bike James or any other books they could point me in the direction of? Or perhaps a good personal trainer you'd recommend (if youre in Edinburgh or nearby)

So I've not been training for enduro's however my wife and I have been increasing our running and started this strength workout (Iron Strength) a couple of weeks ago. We have found it tough but might be something you want to add into what ever training you are doing. Someone has helpfully added a pdf of the workout once you have watched the videos, its in the comments. If you can't download it email me and I will mail a copy of it.

what are you looking for? general conditioning?

bike james is supposed to be good. and it's not just pdfs - there are videos too. not signed up for it though.

my gym routine (based on no science whatsoever) involves several compound moves; specifically deadlift, squat & shoulder press (kettle bell/ dumbbell). try and get in some turkish getups. and also do some specific rehabilitation exercises for whiplash injury (bent over row/ lat pull down & upright row). i also swing kettlebells around for a bit of conditioning.

you might be better off buying a plan/ or a book (metcalffe has a weight regime in.) if your not quite sure what to target

sorry for the brain dump!!
