I'm after a pair of riding shorts, as my old ones have pretty much worn out. I have narrowed it down to Endura Singletrack , and Altura summit shorts, but which is best.

Do any of you guys have any experience with them. e.g. wearing out quickly etc.

Many Thanks

Endura single track - if you wear the click-fast liners they're quite short, I find they sit above the liners when you're pedalling. Also too thick for warm days I take a medium. Strange seam in the central crotch area, can be annoying if you just plonk down on the saddle.

Altura Summit - got some cheap @ the Whinlatter Enduro - nice looking liner, very light and looser fitting - sizing is a bit strange as I've nearly no adjustment left on the velcro straps in a medium, quite generous I'd say.
Probably a good warmer weather short, though I doubt if they're as tough as the single tracks.

I have a pair of summit, good shorts never had any problems.

Did try a pair of singletrack, went for hummvee very good shorts, but the singletrack just felt a little too stiff for me...

I like both although probably prefer the fit of the singletracks. However, the STs always fail at the seams (in my and everyone I ride with's experience, anyway). Although lighter, the summits don't appear any less tough, but the waist popper isn't that secure in use. The new Altura apex does look very nice and, as it has a liner included, compares favourably in price to the STs. I'll probably give them a go next time round.

Singletracks appear to have a nice 'tailored' fit that just 'works' well. The map pockets on the rear side of each leg I find incredibly useful for maps, keys, ipod etc. And the Teflon coating is good (for a bit) at keeping water off, until it washes away. The material is pretty tough too. Endura inners seemed waaaay too tight and small for me to actually use so I binned them.

My only tip is to keep a needle and thread handy, you'll need them. ๐Ÿ˜‰

My STs have performed flawlessly thus far (two years). I would not hesitate in recommending them. I use bib shorts with them and am not mad-keen on the Endura liners.
