My son has just finished his GCSEs and fancies a long weekend's bike riding to mark the occasion.
Peak District, Afan, and CyB have all worked well - where else does the STW collective suggest? Needs to be in the UK. Nowhere that needs body armour.
Proper cream teas would be a bonus.

Come down to Devon, hit Exmoor and Dartmoor. I'm sure people on here would offer some great routes, and you can (I believe) camp out of sight of a road on the [Dart]moor
Cream teas and no armour? I'd try the Quantocks.
