seen a chap on one of these "bikes" on my way home tonight, very strange when he pulled up along side me.
Anyone here have one?

A guy did LEJOG on one last year - in a decent time too.
There's a group of audaxers who use them and one has can article in the Arrivee magazine most (quarterly) issues.
Never actually seen one in the flesh though.
Saw a guy on one doing London-Brighton BHF ride last year. I'd like to have a go one on for a laugh.
Still want to try one of those. It's definitely a bike. Two wheels, pedals, chain, gears. Another way to get out of a car and moving! Looks fun.
Found a short film, looks interesting will watch later

The Lejog video is worth a watch.
I've only seen one once, defo a double take moment
Think I've seen the same guy Bruneep, not entirely sure what the advantage is? looks like you'd have far less control. It takes all sorts I guess!
Had them at the bike shop I worked at in Gran Canaria. A bit shit, imo.
Seen a few around Munich, too, but then there are people commuting on fat bikes so take from that what you will.
I had a thing with the woman who is now married to one of the owners/designers/builders of the company
she lives nice life surfing in california as far as I can tell from facebook, oh what she couldve had ๐
A bit shit, imo.
From a work-out/experience POV or build/design?
"The freedom to go wherever the road takes you"
Umm just like a bike then. Or a car for that matter ๐
However I can see an advantage in these for taking with smart clothes on. I hate cycling in suit trousers, they aren't cut for a riding position for me at least. On the other hand there's nowhere for your bags.
I've seen loads of them in Belgium; very popular over there.
I wouldn't think it would be much cop somewhere hilly.
It's got gears and everything...
It has gears but look at weight distribution.
Aren't these aimed more at runners?
I never really liked the cross/eliptical trainers at the gym... it kinda felt like running when you do the clench speedwaddle when you really need a shit.
Disregarding for a moment our national propensity to look at 'different' stuff as if a stranger just barged in and did a poop on the carpet..
Belgium; very popular over there.
^this fact alone is enough to turn [s]half[/s] most of [s]Britain[/s] [s]The UK[/s] England firmly against such contraption.
