Been trying to get an Elixir CR Mag to behave itself (usual dragging and a sticky piston). Needs a bleed, which is no drama, but was faffing with the bite point adjuster and, after winding it out i ended up with dot fluid all over my hand.
Bit of a surprise - would have thought the adjuster would just stop turning before a load of fluid got spat out. Anyone experienced anyting similar? Are they knackered? Delicate? Am i just ham-fisted?
I did the same with my Elixir too.
Certainly not expected on a high end brake!
Now I dont bother using the adjuster.
Out of interest where did you buy yours?
Got 'em on a second hand bike I bought for a mate, so no idea what the history is. Bloody hate mucking about with avids - great when they work, ****ing hateful when they need fettling 🙁
Will keep my monkey hands away from the adjuster
