Hey guys..
So I am wanting to download some routes to the Bolt, and include turn by turn alerts.
I see that both RWG and Komoot support this.
But which is better?
Ease of use, best interface etc.
Any views from current users?
I've used RWGPS for several years now. For road route planning at least, it's the best thing I've used: most of the time you can just set your start and end points and then drag the route to where you want to go, and if you want to do anything more complicated you usually can without great difficulty, there's a lot of functionality in there. For off-road routes you need to manually plot the lines and if you want turn cues you need to add them manually, but I suspect that's true of all similar tools. Route management is pretty straightforward and the basic membership buys you some features that might be useful, such as the ability to chop routes up and glue the bits together again, group routes into events, and automatically position cues a certain distance before a turn. Works for me.
I fired up Komoot the other day, having not touched it for years (and never used it in anger), and couldn't see it doing what I wanted to do. YMMV.
Thanks Bez, helpful info. Thanks..
A question.
Can you upload a current route to it (from a Strava GPX), then re-save as a new GPX to give turn by turn prompts?
