IMO no, there are a few trails that would benefit but most wouldn't.

Was up on Saturday afternoon, and amazed how dry it still was.. Perhaps there'd been less rain than at work all week ๐Ÿ™„ (Glasgow...). Wouldn't say mud tyres required unless there's been recent down-pours.

This was after going up scalextric - Harbour & down Maidens; note lack of splatter. Dry enough that most stony paths aint offering much resistance to tyres, front or rear (i.e. be careful coming down Maidens)

And if you're on trails needing mud tyres in the Pentlands, you'll probably have the trail police after you.

Indeed Jimmy.

Since I started riding there the Pentlands are 1-2 feet smaller each. :FCTA:

You guys deserve a medal for being upstanding citizens, the reason i asks is i'm a pentland virgin, what are my chances of cleaning these climbs first time, Harbour hill, puke and camoflauge, i'm also a punter.

It was very dry yesterday apart from a few sumps and springs.

Did some "summer only" trails (Bavelaw - Hare Hill - Green Cleuch - Black Hill - White Cleuch - Glencorse) and was still really, really dry even after the wee bit of rain we've had this past week. Has only really drizzled today as well so it'll be grand.

No mud tyres required until we get a lot of heavy rain I'd wager.

No rain is even landing on the Pentlands these days - the wind either evaporates it or blows it into the sea.

Riding in the Pentlands leads to your presence required at the trail repair days being organised by the pentland rangers and jeremy in a thread somewhere on here...

TJ - i will make the August date but will be away in June.

p.s. you still didn't tell me the dates.

Andy - nope. Waiting on kits and had too much on to get things sped up.

I have no idea what you could have on your mind that could in any way be more important than building a (gorgeous ti) bike, you'd think you were getting married or something ๐Ÿ™„

For the type of material that visibly oxidises the least in wet weather conditions? ๐Ÿ˜€
