Training centre and tracklogs won't recogonise my edge 705.
I have tried installing the drivers but can only get to a certain stage as the computer doesn't detect the gps as being on.
The edge shows in explorer though!
Help!!!
Have you accidentally disabled or unnstalled that Garmin Connect utility programme which has to be running? It sits in the Windoze system tray in the bootm right IIRC.
TrackLogs doesn't need to recognise the Edge, just transfer direct to the device using File SaveAs. Use GPX files for tracks, TCX files for courses. The next update to TrackLogs automates all of this.
Which folder of the edge do you save them to?
It's not in front of me right now but from memory its...
garmin\courses\XXX.tcx --> For Courses
garmin\gpx\XXX.gpx --> For Tracks
Go straight for courses with the Edge as they are simply tracks with virtual partner timings. Make sure you set the naismith algorithm in TrackLogs (from the statistics window) to cycling and you'll get sensible pace information in the course.
Sorry, I forgot to say. You should download the TrackLogs beta v13.3.0 from the website to get the newer TCX and GPX formats.
Thanks for your help

Hey i had excatly the same problem i was told by garmin its not the drivers you need as the edge is a mass storage device.
They didnt really help all that much really so i went round the houses like you getting to the same point but no further.
The only thing i did do differently to get it going was to open training center from programs not the sortcut icon !!! dont know why it worked but it did

Cos most of the Garmin software is sh1te. I've tried plotting a simple route in mapsource,uploading to the Edge and then reviewing the route prior to riding it. My routes are magenta, the transferred route on screen had all sorts of spurious off and off road magenta lines 'appear by magic'. Do the same in Bikerouteoaster and the route is fine.
Crap software.

Maybe your shortcut points to an older version of TC?
