Use a rock?
Want to hear a story? 2 friends of mine tried these BBs. 5 replacements under warrrenty none of which were satisfactory. Both gave up.
oh great thats a good start!!!
On the other hand - mine is still going strong after 12 months. To fit it, you need to hold the tool closely against the BB, otherwise it slips and as it is Aluminium, it can damage the teeth.
*pull up chair, get tea ready and offers rocketdog some brownie*...
Is it that time of the week already? Shall we start a book on how many posts Teej will make?
home made brownie Juan?
Bash it with a rock. For maximum effect, do this while frotting yourself with a live octopus. If this doesn't work, do not worry, all damage is covered by the warranty. If the warranty is not honoured, you should threaten to burn down Superstar's warehouse.
All of these remedies have been tried and tested, and many reliable posters will tell you that this is the best way forward. 🙂
I couldn't resist just one little post 🙂 two now

you have a beard, wear lycra and I am 46% gay I must try to get you lay down apparently
Unfortunately they've made the splines really small - mine slipped and put a few gashes in the lovely red cups 🙁
actually before you put it in, take the bearings to pieces and put some proper grease in them - mine seized after a few rides and found there to be no grease in them (SKF version). Has been fantastic since.
Did you chase out your BB threads so they just go in by hand and then nip them up? Its amazing how galled up most peoples BB threads are and then they bugger their BB by forcing it in
yep they went in quite freely until i come to torque them up and my tool just keeps slipping!!
Try using a pair of mole grips.
There don't need to be (and probably shouldn't be that tight btw).
p.s. For all you SS naysayers, I went for the standard (£20) HTII BB. No problems installing. Still perfect after a year.
If you have a G clamp, you could use that to keep the tool in place while you nip it up. My conventional sq tape BB tool is actually an ISIS one with really deep void behind the splines, so it tends to 'peel' out of the BB when you're nipping it up, you need one hand to forc e it into the splien and another on the adjustable. All you need to do is force the tool to remain firmly engaged.
I'd be more worried about how you get it off again when you need to replace it if you're having that much hassle fitting it :p
