1, Yes, still do on a road bike but under baggies on ATB
2, No but going to soon on longer trips
3, Lovejoy’s sidekick?
4, Hate - too strong a word in many applications. Dislike the arms race, dislike attitudes such as espoused by the Stanton Bikes “crew”.
Question 1.
Do you or have you ever rode in full Lycra?
Yes, but it was the 90's..
Question 2.
Do you ride with your mobile phone attached to your Handlebars?
Nope. Phone on bars is an instant flag of someone to be avoided at al costs...
Question 3.
Have you ever heard of Tinker Juarez?
Yup, was amongst the hecklers at Strathpeffer World Cup when he walked the last downhill section.
Question 4.
Do you hate what EMTB's have done to the sport?
Not hate, but dislike to a degree. I was an early adopter of ebikes in 2018. My reason for buying one was being the least fit of my riding group and wanting to do longer, bigger rides. It was only ever to be an addition to the stable, not the focus. I'm now fatter and less fit. Some of my riding group have gone full Amflow and wont ride normal bikes unless on an uplift. Its fair to say its damaged things for me personally.
Question 1.

On a road bike in the past. Personally I dont even think padded shorts have a place on an mtb but I'm in the minority here.
Question 2.
Do you ride with your mobile phone attached to your Handlebars?
Occasionally in the past for navigation following a route I had never done before, prior to my current garmin.
Question 3.
Have you ever heard of Tinker Juarez?
Heard the name, vaguely aware that he was an XC racer. Would not recognise his face, or bike/kit from his heydey.
Question 4.
Do you hate what EMTB's have done to the sport?
Yes.
Do I hate the bikes, no. (although I hate looking at any non-TQ motor one)
Do I hate how some people ride them, and what that does to the trails, to relationships with other outdoor users, and sometimes what it does group ride dynamics - yes.
I'm standing firm on my viewpoint that the power multiplier should be capped - maybe at 2 or 2.5 times the rider's input. That would give even the weakest/unfittest rider the mtb experience, and let your average joe compete with pros; while stopping the junior motocrossers that some have become.
No.
No.
Yes.
Yes.
Question 1.
Yes, but only in XC races and I'd still be very self conscious about it (under baggies at all other times)
Question 2.
No
Question 3.
Who?
Question 4.
No, have an Amflow, use it for about 1 in 6 spins. It's great craic (means fun, for the non irish)
Question 1.
Do you or have you ever rode in full Lycra?
yes, don't get on with baggy shorts.
Question 2.
Do you ride with your mobile phone attached to your Handlebars?
absolutely not!
Question 3.
Have you ever heard of Tinker Juarez?
oh yeah. would have been the one to beat if he'd laid off the weed (allegedly)
Question 4.
Do you hate what EMTB's have done to the sport?
No, I think they are a great tool that opens up MTB riding to more folk and in a different way. Whilst I am a bit concerned about how my local trails will cope with the extra wattage on the loose or soft inclines, it's nothing compared to the local felling equipment...
Personally I dont even think padded shorts have a place on an mtb but I'm in the minority here.
I've tried them in the past and totally dislike them. My arse is fine(ish) on any bike without them.
no/no/yes/no
Overly sweaty bojangles are not it. +1
yeah - with shorts over them they understandably lose the wicking magic they have when worn alone roadie style.
they seem to be either wet with sweat or wet with puddle spash for 90% of the year in UK conditions, doesnt seem pleasant to me. Also see the recent thread discussing rubbing various creams and liquids onto your nether regions before and or after a ride.
lightweight "sports" boxers, under lightweight not-too-baggy baggy shorts or trousers sees me fine for all mtbing duties.
I’m thinking of ordering the cheaper Amflow! - runs for cover 🫣

Can you get that with a truss fork? 😉
That isn't the sort of truss they need. The one to hold the gut in is more appropriate

Hurley boxers from TK Maxx are my choice. Pack of 4 for £15. 🤌🏻

Bit unstable under pressure I’ve heard. Also got some interesting approaches to (fiscal) mechanics.
