Hi All,
New here. Is it worth buying disc brakes on ebay? or would I be better getting some old ones from a shop. Merlin sell Avid Juicy 5 Set for £139.
Hoping to have a few upgrades, but on a tight budget

I picked up a set of Deore (f+r) from here for under £50. Or how about XT ones for under £80 for a complete set? Also from the classifieds.

If you have to have a new set of disc brakes for around the price you want to pay have a look at cable operated disc brakes. They arent quite as powerful as hydraulics and they take a bit more maintenace but they do the job, they just arent flash.
