Hi,

I have a pair of Easton EA70 XCT wheels and the freehub has given out and unrepairable according to my LBS. It seems the whole world, including the distributors, are out of stock of the required replacement - the X1 cassette body so Silverfish tell me.
Has anyone got one lying about that they don't need by any chance?

Cheers

Tom

have you tried ebay? I had to order some end caps for my Havens from the states on there because the UK is out of stock.

I can't help...but con confirm that Easton Hubs are utter bollocks. Mine went back for replacement, back in the day....freehub fell off and crumbled.

the replacement is little better. Goes through bearings at an unprecedented rate, regardless of whether I stay on top of it.

Interested in this as I think I have the same wheels - are these the ones with the "stealth" graphics with the grey Easton on dark grey rims?

26"

Think I took the freehub apart on mine to re-grease at one point and the greese I used was slightly too thick so had to reclean and use something a bit thinner - probably some aerosal grease IIRC. It runs well now, but it's slightly disconcertingly quiet.

I need new bearings for the rear hub, haven't looked into it yet, any advice?

I just took mine to the LBS....they stuck some new bearings in for me last week. Prior to that it was making massive bangs and cracks (span like the clappers though!)

Seems ok again. For now....

and yes - 26 (2011 I think) but on the XC90 so no stealth graphics.

Yeah, that's the wheels. Thanks for the advice folks. No luck on eBay just yet but will keep looking. I won't be buying Easton again!
