Obviously BB needs to be tighter than tight. Any drawbacks?

You have to take your cranks off to change them, apart from that I think they're better tbh, they protect the frame from chainsuck, and no lining em up straight, bolt it on and forget about it

Why does the BB need to be tighter than tight? If you frame needs one it will have a securing bolt hole onthe frame, shirely?
How do they protect from chainsuck exactly? Neither of my two bike with them did anything to stop it happening.. to the point I'm now testing a K-Edge anti-chain suck device now (not turning out well so far)

I replaced one of my e-types with a top swing and am much happier with that setup (the e-type had far too much play in it far too quickly), will do the same with the other when the time comes, as the etype one seem pretty poor to me.

Though given the choice (and frames where they fit), I get conventional over the others, any day of the week.

I had clearance issues with the front mech I adapted I.e sawn off a section as per manufacturer (still the pinch bolt gouged a bit of the rear swingarm). I don't want to take any risk with the frame warranty replacement as I'm a bike-muppet with tools 8)

Is/are the e-type that bad for you?
