E-moped brake lever adaptor - crush washer necessary?

I'm swapping the levers over on my e-moped. They're banjo fitting so just like Magura and some Shimano brakes. The shops where I am are near useless. They can fit original parts, or try to sell you a new bike. No proper training or interest.

Original levers have 8mm bolts for the hose banjos which made getting upgraded levers impossible without buying an adaptor from 10mm lever to 8mm for the existing hoses. System is two years old and I will try and get a shop to make me a custom hose with 8mm on one end, 10mm on the other as getting 10mm banjo fitting calipers with the existing bolt spacing seems impossible in this market. I bought levers to fit my hands better instead of the existing useless flappy 3 finger levers which aren't providing safe emergency braking. I've got spares for everything. Watched enough YT videos and it seems simple enough given experience with MTB brakes (mask, gloves and goggles as now messing with dangerous DOT fluid)

The important question right now is if I need to stick a spare 10mm crush washer between lever and the black adaptor bolt adaptor to prevent a leak at that point?

Pic shows parts, with the adaptor and 8mm bolt with crush washers inline ready for assembly, with new lever supplied 10mm bolt and crush washers on the left.

Yes, the adaptor is sitting in the same spot as the banjo was, so needs to be sealed in the same way.

Alright. All set up to go and try and not make a mess everywhere tomorrow.

Cutting the electrical cutoff wires (throttle/braking) and joining/taping them (not universal!) will be my next job.

I use that phrase and you're the first person I've heard use it too.ย What are you riding it of interest? I'm on a Lexmoto lx06

It's a "Harley Electric Bicycle X20" sold in China.ย 2000w (you can get 1500w or 3000w). Suits my long legs. No banging the handlebars on my knees like the 'kid' scooter types.
