[#4098903]

Been using a Fenix L2D for a couple of years now on the helmet to compliment the bar light.

Is there anything new out there from the likes of Deal Xtreme that's cheap and worth 'upgrading' to for SITS? Something that takes AA's would be great, but not overly fussed.

Cheers

I used to use a similar fenix on my head - then swapped it to a P7 which was loads brighter but a bit bulky. For the last 18 months or so I've been using an XM-LT6 - nice and bright, not too big and a bit more floody. Doesn't take AAs though.

One of mine has become a bit temperament now though - starts to flash randomly after a while. Might try some better/new batteries.

That is all.

wot he said above in the 'std' torch format, otherwise you onto XML 'bike lights' (or P7 if you want less overall light but more flood) that are considered a tad dodgy... hey my P7 one worked fine & was manufactured a few year previous to these...

Off-hand I moved over to a V1 Smudge XM-L unit (V1 for £57 or the newer V2 for £90), as he did me a head unit for a price I was willing to pay & he's a great guy to deal with. He's got a couple of new light for this year (I fancy the dual XM-L) & aren't the rip off prices of most of the big manufacturers, though isn't quite as cheap as dealextreme (but a much better record on quality & turn around on returns)
