If only we could build decent ones to start with let alone heat them

Pah! The Glasgow Clyde Tunnel cycle path had under-track heating when the tunnel was built 50 year ago. OK they never got switched on as it turned out nuclear power wasn't too cheap to meter, but it's the thought that counts eh?

Won't they end up liberally scattered with sleeping homeless??
That said, as a motorbikelist I've often thought a heated road network would be great. When stopped at the lights you could dismount and press your hands against it! Ahhhhhhhhh.... ๐
