Bought an XD driver off of ebay but it didn't come with end caps. Can I reuse my existing 12x142 one from the shimano/standard freehub shell? Or are they different?
EDIT: Its a DT 350 hub.
I've not seen the two side by side however all pictures appear to show a different part. It looks thinner and also has XD markings.
Yes they are - the bit that goes on the freehub end has a smaller flange.
I could just file the lip down on one you have already.
Balls, they aren't cheap either are they.
Might just file it down, I guess I'm just trying to get it to fit snguly in without rubbing?
My man skills are utter bobbins and I managed to file one down to what I thought was a pretty decent fit. Have a go, what's the worst that can happen!
I have filed one down, needed a 135 one for an HT, managed to find an old one in a box - easy enough, just work your way round it & job done 🙂
