I have these in my new bike and assumed the rims would be sealed at the spoke holes for setting up tubeless. They weren't, which wasn't a big deal. Easy enough to tape. However was wondering what exactly the 'tubeless ready ' means in relation to the rim

rim profile suits tubeless tyres i.e. supports the bead better than standard rims to prevent 'burping' and aid inflating.

However, I do have a pair of old Dt 5.1 rims set up tubeless with some electrical tape and a non tubeless Maxxis tyre. Been like it for about 5 years.
I'm sure tubeless specific is better, but not much wrong with the old stuff either.

Yeah me too actually, and the DT's actually went up easier than the tubeless ready WTB's...
